Although I am currently only displaying watercolour paintings on my site, paintings are available in a variety of mediums - watercolour, acrylic, oil paints, soft pastels and mixed media.


Available in a variety of sizes from A6 up (105 x148 mm / 4.1 x 5.8 inches). Choose whether to have just the painting or we can discuss options for mounting and professional framing.

How much will a commission cost?

... I hear you ask. That age old question and there's no one straightforward answer. I understand that an unknown cost of something can be daunting and make us feel apprehensive, I feel exactly the same.

To refer to an old saying, how long is a piece of string. Yes that's a cliche, but it's impossible to estimate a price for something without understanding more about requirements.

Prices start from around £300 upwards for a watercolour painting around 18 x 26 cm in dimensions, which many of the paintings shown here are.

Things to consider in your commission

  1. Size, how big or small are you thinking - A6, postcard size or something more substantial, a real room filler?
  2. Medium - watercolour, acrylic, oil paints, soft pastels or mixed media
  3. Just the artwork or beautifully finished using with professional mounting and framed to suit your needs

Essentially, requirements that are likely to increase the time needed to complete a piece of art will inevitably increase the cost. More complex the image, the likelihood it will take longer to complete, as will a a larger painting.

Commemorative portrait of beloved Chris

Following painting 31 portraits I did in a leather bound book, for a friend's 50th, this portrait was commissioned by a close family member to honour an late extended family member.


I was given a copy of the photo used on the funeral leaflet. The original photo was taken by her daughter on a phone in a poorly lit restaurant. I first spent some time improving the colour and contrast of the photo, then after approval of my updates I proceeded with the painting.


I decided that the most important thing was to gain a likeness and add some warmth to the painting. The background in the original photo was quite busy and distracting. So I decided to greatly simplify that to further enhance focus of her face.


I left her cardigan loose and suggestive, again not to draw attention away from her face.


They were so happy with this painting. They called me in in floods of tears to thank me for it. She shared photos of it to family members, who all asked for a copy of it. This was very much a heartfelt project and it was tremendously rewarding to hear that my work touched so many people with joy, following the sad departure of a family member.

Commemorative pet portrait of Parker

This is Parker, who sadly died in 2025. Parker was a pet of a good friend of mine, who I visited in early 2025, meeting Parker for the first time. Even in early 2025 Parker was on the decline, but was a lovely happy little soul.


Being a dog owner myself, on hearing about the sad passing of Parker. I took it upon myself to paint a portrait of him in secret. Which I gifted to my friends when complete.


They were so overwhelmed and overcome by the gesture, they video called me in tears to thank me for the painting. Which they got professionally framed.


As soon as my friend received this painting, they called me in floods of tears with gratitude. Saying I had completely captured him as they remembered, where other artists had tried but failed to do so. They had it framed and it now sits in pride of place in their hallway.
